Benefit Champion starting Feb. 1, 2016. Flexible Spending Account This is a really generous benefit being provided to all full-time employees at Champion, these types of benefits are typically completely employee-funded, but in this case, Champion has chosen to make it completely employer-funded, which is unheard of. Champion cares deeply about its employees, and this just another example of just how much!!! The $500 will come in the form of a debit card preloaded with the funds, you will receive it in the mail from Sterling Administration. |
|||||
This
debit card can be used for medical expenses such as:
Medical Visit Copays, Dental Work, Vision Care, and so much
more! We are renewing our Flexible Spending Account benefit
June 1, 2016. All full-time employees will be
receiving an additional Employer Contribution of $500 in their FSA account/card,
effective June 1st, if you have unused funds in your account they
will rollover and still be available for use. Please watch the video to the above and contact HR for
more information.

Champion Electric Inc. is a merit shop electrical contractor
dedicated to training, education and safety. Below is information on
how to keep you trained, educated and safe: Certification - Apprentices & Trainees Electricians who work for licensed C-10 contractors in the State of
California are required by law to be certified. Those employees who do
not yet have the necessary hours of electrical work experience to sit
for the certification exam must be registered apprentices or registered
with the state as an Electrical Trainee. For more information visit ABC So-Cal. If
you are an apprentice or electrical trainee preparing to turn out, now
is the time to schedule and take your journeyman test. We encourage our
apprentices and trainees to start the process at the beginning of the 4
year. An apprentice can take the test way before he completes the
program and has the
required 8000 OJT hours. If the apprentice passes the test, the DIR
will hold
the certification card until ABC send them the release/program
completion
certificate. Failure to obtain your license at the time of turn out
will result in termination of employment. Certification Renewal Information - Journeymen Journeymen,
you will need to renew your certification every 3 years. Prior to
renewal, you must provide a copy of 32 completion hours of continuing
education from an approved educational provider in California. Here are
some links: Electrical Certification Consultants - Most used by Champion Employees Click here to see a list of approved schools Click here to see Federal / State apprenticeship programs You must have at least 2,000 hours of work in the industry in the past 3 years. The fee is $100 and you must certified mail renewal application 60 days before the expiration date. Failure to renew results in termination of employment. For more information, please contact the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. ABC So-Cal Continuing Education ABC
So-Cal offers some other continuing education courses that you are
welcome to take throughout the year. The classes are on a first
come/first serve basis for the free seats available, after that
employees can attend by contacting HR and setting up a payback agreement
for the class cost. Here is a link to this years courses: 2017 ABC Continuing Education Courses
Safety Congratulation
Champions! Thanks to each and every one of you we are going on 0
reportable accidents! It is important to stay safe and up to date on
safety training. If you have any safety questions or need any safety
training please contact Steve Marquez our Loss Prevention, Safety,
Security, and Asset Protection consultant: 909-578-1797 or stevenmarquez1@hotmail.com. Attendance Consistent attendance and punctuality is important to Champion. Absenteeism
creates more work for others or leaves important work undone. One
worker’s absence or habitual lateness at Champion can disrupt
production schedules and
reflect badly on the company when customer service suffers. Poor
attendance also causes bad feelings among co-workers who follow the
rules and practice good work ethics. In the case where you will be late or will be absent from work, please contact your Foreman immediately as well as the Field Superintendent, Anthony Pagdilao (right). To schedule time off, please fill out and submit a Personnel Action Form (PAF) to your Foreman. Time off should be requested 30 days in advance.
